Well, after 13 years of employment at Independent Bank, I have decided to make a career change! I have accepted a position at Wayland Union Schools as a General Ledger and Purchasing Accountant. I start on May 2nd and am very much looking forward to it. There are many upsides!! The drive is a major positive! I will be driving 25 minutes vs. the 50-55 minutes I drive now, I have better hours that will allow me to be home by 4:30 vs. the 6pm I do now AND I get to go back to school and earn my teaching certificate. I started college expecting to be an elementary education teacher and took that one finance class and changed my path. Now I can potentially blend both of my interests and start a new career.
Kids are doing great! Kenny, we have decided not to have him start T-ball yet, maybe he'll be more ready next year, but he is doing really well counting and with colors. He's up to 13 and can name blue, red and green. Josey has signed up for an audition for a talent show at school. She has written a song that she plans to memorize and sing! It's really good and we are so proud. Now we will see if the nerves set in. The dance recital is just around the corner and the dances are done, now they just need to be polished. All sorts of fun!!
Ken, says that he only wants me to say that he is as a "loving father" and "wonderful husband" and nothing else. But I will say that he did coach T-ball tonight for the first time. Lots of kids were there and he seemed to enjoy it. We will see once there is more structure, first nights are hard.
